Creative Advising

A person lying on their back on a wooden floor with her legs raised, bent at the knees, and feet against a plain beige wall.

Advising that bridges art and business, so your creative work and your income grow together. Go from scattered ideas to a working system with the guidance to follow through on projects that mean the most to you.

You may walk into a Creative Advising session carrying:

  • A tangle of ideas and sticky notes, no map for what comes first.

  • Projects stalling at 80%: the pitch sits, the class outline lingers, the site copy never ships.

  • Patchwork systems (Notion/Notes/scraps of paper) that don’t hold.

  • A desire for growth without losing the magic of the work.

  • Your offers feel muddy, income jumps around, and you’re never sure where the next project is coming from.

  • Scope creep and shifting timelines; nothing lands.

  • Marketing feels misaligned (or just loud) — but you know you need to do it somehow

  • Files live everywhere; nothing is easy to find or repeat.

  • Stalled projects don’t just vanish, do they? They kinda hang around…

  • The pitch you keep meaning to send, the book draft stuck at chapter three, the sales page for that program you poured so much heart into… (And the longer they sit, the heavier they feel to come back to.)

“I’m more inspired than I’ve been in a long, long time.

“[Cody] helped me turn an absolute jumble of ideas into a clear vision for my rebrand, a plan to finally tackle my long-abandoned MFA thesis, and ideas for a brand new offer—which is a lot to accomplish in just an hour! Now, they'd be my go-to for just about any question, whether it's ‘how can I bring more creativity into this project?’ or something more practical like ‘how do I file an LLC?’ In short: if you've got a creative business (or creative life) question, Cody's 100% the person you want to help you figure it out.”

Real things that have emerged from past sessions:

  • Launched a workshop with a simple promo plan and a finished sales page.

  • Booked new client projects with a rebuilt inquiry flow and a clearer services page.

  • Packaged and priced a service suite instead of writing one-off proposals every time.

  • Outlined a book proposal with weekly deliverables — and actually drafted pages on schedule.

  • Clarified offers and pipeline, set pricing, and put the next launch date on the books.

But it’s also okay if you don’t accomplish any of that. Every project is different. Sometimes you just need an hour and a checklist. Sometimes you need a full reset by the lake. At the very minimum, you’ll leave with clear next steps, dates on the calendar, and systems you’ll actually use — so the swirl in your head starts to look more like a clear path forward.

How we can work together

One-Hour Session ($225)

One focused hour to put everything on the table, get clear, and leave with next steps you can act on this week. Perfect for when you need direction fast.

Some things we could do:

  • Rapid audit + priority stack + 30-day checklist so that you know exactly what to do next and don’t have to spin out on options.

  • Outline a book proposal so that your idea becomes a concrete pitch and TOC without getting buried in procrasta-research.

  • Shape a new online class or newsletter strategy so that you can finally ship it even if you haven’t chosen a platform yet.

Book an hour

Two-Hour Deep Dive ($400)

Visioning and strategy for early-stage projects. We'll name the thing, give it shape, and set 90-day goals so it can move forward. (Includes custom follow-up doc.)

Some things we could do :

  • Map a 90-day roadmap so deadlines and deliverables are clear, without juggling five calendars or letting timelines slide until the project stalls.

  • Plan your artist residency or retreat with a clear schedule, budget, and application draft so the whole thing feels doable.

  • Set up weekly rituals and light-touch systems so your creative time is protected without rigid routines you won't keep.

Kind words from past advisees

"I left with not only practical clarity, but a feeling of excitement, trust in my vision, and motivation to actually do the next steps.

“Working with Cody is THE BEST! I came to them with an idea I wanted to develop into an offering, and I left with a ton of practical logistical clarity and ideas. It's amazing to have a thought partner who can meet me wherever I am in the process and support me in weaving the threads together.”

― mari mu, Craniosacral Therapist

"Cody both improved my business and demonstrated to me my worth in the process.

“Any creative advisor can help you strategize, but only Cody Cook-Parrott can prove to you that you deserve to reap every benefit of the strategy. During our creative advising session, they helped me majorly simplify several of my educational offerings, which led to increased revenue with less burnout: something I didn't think was possible, and certainly something I didn't think I deserved.”

― Hurley Winkler, Writer

"I left the session with a list of actions and eagerness to put them into practice—and the process has been fun.

“I've been a fan of Cody's work for years and was excited to book a recent Creative Advising session with them to help me get unstuck with a couple work and personal projects that felt stagnant. Cody created a container in our session for me to talk through what was feeling challenging and they asked keen questions to guide me to imagine paths forward. I especially appreciated how Cody shared examples from their own experience with similar obstacles—it normalized the nervousness I was feeling and encouraged me to feel confident about my ability to achieve my goals.”

― Kate Henry, PhD

"I left with ideas for new things to try AND the sense that there is someone I can trust who understands what I'm trying to do.

“I see [Cody] as, maybe, the only person in the online business and marketing world that is a personality fit for me. I appreciate the way their work is purpose-focused, informed by spirituality, and still very practical. It is so rare to find someone who is as dedicated to supporting the creative work of others as Cody is, and my Creative Advising session was proof of that. I was searching for advice on how to grow my business with good marketing while staying true to my project's core mission. Cody was able to give me some actionable strategies for attracting the right kinds of people to my products, and lots of encouragement.”
